A ghastly new adventure module!

Greetings on this merrie Monday, mortals! Autumn falls swiftly across the lands, & I find my mood brightening as each day grows darker than the last. Enjoy today a look at our latest adventure module—”SPECTRES OF AVARICE!”

Thy party, journeying in unfamiliar country, ye happen ‘pon a grim hamlet. Beset by fog, its denizens wander in twilight. All good deeds & good men fall ill, & the locals blame an ancient curse. But as ye dig, ye uncover a dark history, & layers of foul corruption. ‘Tis no mere curse—these lands be haunted…by SPECTRES OF AVARICE!

Immerse your players in haunted history with our latest adventure module! The weight of the past comes to bear, & players will need more than fists & fireballs to liberate the villagers from their woes.

Filled with riddles, puzzles, & paradoxes, this module rewards creative thinking. Simply exorcising the spectres will not undo their impacts; instead, challenge players to exorcise & reshape ideas themselves. They will encounter paupers, whose families were enslaved generations ago, & have endured abuse ever since. They will encounter dead forests, logged bare, which struggle to regrow. They will encounter bizarre laws, enacted centuries afore, which yet bind the present in ghostly chains. How does one liberate a people, shackled to a past they barely understand?

For example, empty huts line the village byways—& yet, many of its denizens sleep “hutless” under the stars each night. This “system” arose centuries ago, & the village has never changed it. Some insist that, if the ancient ways were disrespected, disaster would befall them—but how is a hutlessness crisis, not already a disaster? Can your players convince them to abandon tradition, & simply let their neighbors sleep in the unused huts?

Adventure, ahoy!

As ever, our module features extensively-detailed NPCs for you to use as you see fit. Foes like the wretched high wraith Lord Cheney; wheel-obsessed miser Henricus Forde; cold iron-monger Andrew the Scot; & cruel Abin-Nasr, the first man to enslave another. But, other NPCs from adventures like the “TOMB OF THE BUSINESS BRAIN” or the “SEPULCHRE OF SLOP” fit perfectly—simply turn them into spectres using our Ghostversion Matrix™, & slot them in! For even though the villains in the Commerce Cult, & the insidious L.L.M. zealots, are still with us today, their wicked deeds will shape the world for decades to come.
