Shasta, Day II

Good afternoon, mortals! Summersbane & I are struggling our way down California, en route back from a truly wondrous weekend at the Shasta faire!

On Mondays, normally, I send ye fresh art, but today, how could I not send instead fresh faire imagery & tales?

One of my favorite faire activities, is attending musicians who play the songs of my youth. This year I had the good fortune to enjoy both the Story Wrens (pictured in the Day I missive) & the Wild Thyme Larks! Musick, good & true, by fine folk.

& we e'en had the chance to queue with some Larks at the feast; they treated us, among other things, to a fantastick ditty summarizing *Macbeth*, which fewer than 100 mortals e’er have or will hear.

We saw many impressive costumes, including a number of young mortals in full suits of fur with masks. In the 90-degree heat, this shows true dedication. There were also several plague rats, with similar DIY head-pieces; was this a trend of some kind? Who issues these seasonal faire fashion notices?

Our crowds were boisterous, in just the way we like! We encouraged…certain activities…be visited 'pon data centers, & they cheered for this idea WITHOUT FAIL. All of our most insane ideas found a warm welcome, in fact, which may surprise many, given the faire’s location.

Our evenings we spent largely in the company of pirates—relishing in the anarchical lifestyle, the fine company, & the hamburgers, freely given. They welcome all with open arms, & no other faire is quite so excellent as this one, when we get to join the crew & forge great friendships under their flag.

There are so many morsels to share—of bloodthirsty children, of morning notes madness, of loosed arrows & mead heists. Of dreams shared by Moon-light, of mad singers, of irrepressible patrons & rowdy sticker-seekers! For more details, ye simply shall need to watch our show this Friday at 8PT!
