Look What They Did to my Hand, Man

& some narrative clarifications

Evening, mortals! I hope ye fared better than our intruders last night? If ye missed out on our gambling adventure—on the organized crime drama we found ourselves amidst—on my unwise betting & an important message about the real þas Weargas—then roll the dice on the replay, right here!

Casino Imperiale:
Love & Honor in þas Weargas

As ye all know, last night, our show was interrupted, surrounded, & at one point, threatened, by a different narrative unfolding around us. We heard only snippets, but after the show, I dug up the fuller story.

The Dwarf who strolled out & exploded—”AceLongbeard—apparently, is not actually a full member of the criminal organization, but instead, gambles so well that they employ him. His best friend, the Dwarf named Antny Spogadozo, was a full member, & assigned to protect Ace. But when Ace married Ginger—a pixie—he apparently attempted to reform her into a kept woman, & that predictably went South swiftly, which is how she wound up in Antny’s arms.

That of course ended in tragedy, as we observed last night. It seems the entire point was to skim off the top of the Casino’s take? Which to me, seems like it ought to have been much less messy than they made it. But, in a world with magick, why skim at all? Why not simply transmute dirt or leaves into coins? Why not duplicate gems? Criminy, ye could e’en simply fabricate cheques, or manipulate bank records with a cantrip! All that trouble & violence, for no good reason.

I suppose, in the end, what all involved truly sought, was domination. They enjoyed exerting power o’er others, they relished in violence & control—which was their undoing.

Aside from Ace, who seems to have enjoyed a nice retirement.

& aside also from Don Rickles. I am unsure how Don Rickles came to be involved; I attempted to ask him, but he mercilessly mocked my hat, my manner of speaking, & what he perceived to be my ethnicity. He seems to have hurt no one, aside from my feelings.

Thank ye for reading, mortals! & I must of course humbly thank all those mortals who support our works with coin, whether during the show or right here in the Scriptorium!

I shall write ye Monday with fresh art & a tale! ‘Til then—be safe, be well, & ne’er bet more than ye can afford

Cheers,
