Gratitude, Adjusted

& the Tragedy of Linukili

‘Evening, mortals! I hope ye feasted well, & rested well. If ye missed our holiday special—if ye missed the extra sponsor breaks, the orb-messages, the illusory cannibalism, the expressions of gratitude & friendship—then treat thyself to the replay, right here!

After the show, my friend Linukili & I went to visit a nearby rabbit—sadly, tragedy struck.

The Tragedy of Linukili

During the middle portion of the show—when my guests had abandoned me, & things seemed bleakest, & I needed a friend the most—Linukili the Gnome stopped by to lift my spirits. He provided sage advice, quoted beautiful ancient Gnomish scriptures, & buoyed me into the second half of the show!

Some, though, seemed to resent his presence:

A hideous hex.

Sadly, this dear audience member’s errant wish, gained the power of a true curse. While we dined & supped & sang in the rabbit’s homely warren, all seemed well, & joyful. But we heard, round midnight, the baying of wolves! Our lagomorphic host advised us to be still, & silent, ‘til the hunters moved on.

But brave Linukili, full of mead & mettle, went out to face them, dagger in hand. We tried to stop him but, his precious magical Ring of Greasy Flesh stymied us. He slew one of the wolves, but the other thirty-seven descended upon him with swift ferocity, tearing his greasy flesh into delicious, greasy morsels.

Rest in Peace, Linukili. Thank ye for being there for me.

VALIANT LINUKILI, R.I.P.

Thank ye for reading, mortals, & for spending Gratitude Friday with me! & I must of course humbly thank all those mortals who support our works with coin, whether during the show or right here in the Scriptorium!

I shall write ye Monday with fresh art & a tale—the first part of this year’s YULETIDE ADVENTURE! We reached 100 members of our little Scriptorium coven this week—HUZZAH—& I shall strive to ensure this year’s adventure is worthy of the entire century.

‘Til then—be safe, be well, & toast to Linukili tonight.

Cheers,
Amœnus Franco
