Below Barazinbar!

PLUS: Dwarven etiquette tips

Khazâd ai-mênu, mortals! On this Friday we head underground—deep BENEATH BARAZINBAR! Down, down, to the realm of the DWARVES! Work, song, ale with our guest BARTLEDUIN (aka Hunter)! Grab an axe, a mug, & join us Friday at 8PT!

Below—find a few etiquette tips, for those mortals unfamiliar with Dwarven ways:

Summersbane recently visited this realm; hopefully this time it involves slightly less blood?

The Dwarves of Barazinbar welcome most visitors, & helpfully lay out some guidelines for what be ‘UGLAKH (kindest) & what be ‘UZZAN (foulest). Translated here from the Angerthas, for human ease:

  • ‘UGLAKH: Bowing kindly upon entering, & greeting thy hosts with their grandest title ye know.

  • ‘UZZAN: Bowing rudely upon entering, & greeting thy hosts with a cry of “NOW, GOBLINS, ATTACK!,” followed by a goblin attack.

  • ‘UGLAKH: Bringing a gift of tools, or gems, or ale.

  • ‘UZZAN: Bringing a gift of leaves, or bones, or threats from goblins scrawled onto leaves or carved into bones.

  • ‘UGLAKH: Sharing tales of brave miners, skilled craftsmen, & craven kings meeting just ends.

  • ‘UZZAN: Sharing tales of brave goblins, skilled Elves, & craven kings triumphing over their peoples.

  • ‘UGLAKH: Complimenting thy host’s beard, crafts, & boasts.

  • ‘UZZAN: Condemning thy host’s songs, skills, & stories.

  • ‘UGLAKH: Again, the bringing of gems. Cannot over-emphasize the love of gems—mining, cutting, having, showing. Real gem-fiends, these Dwarves.

  • ‘UZZAN: Again, anything goblin-related. Cannot over-emphasize the bad blood there—theft, slaying, war, depravity. Real fiend-fiends, those goblins.

Thank ye for reading, mortals! & maikhminî, those generous mortals who can & do share their gems with us here to support our works!

We look eagerly forward to our night BENEATH BARAZINBAR! Summersbane feels an especial affinity for Dwarf-kind, & I wager all of ye shall soon share his affinity. ‘Til then—be safe, be well, & MAIKLIKÎ, KHADÂSH!
