A Wedding at Kearney

More images & final thoughts from a lovely faire

Bridal arrival

Monday’s greetings, mortals! We are returned, intact, from our journey to Kearney. There was much chanting, magick, many futures foretold, & we also were lucky enough to witness an ACTUAL WEDDING.

The bridge & groom were wed at a ceremony overseen by sometime-King, sometime-Duke, Spencer, & they attended our final show of the day! An unexpected honor, that our show would become part of someone’s wedding day. We hope they enjoyed the show…

Gaily bedight, a gallant knight

Pumpkins hurled by trebuchet, lances shattered on horseback, underwear worn as outerwear; the weekend provided no end of delights & curiosities. We enjoyed generous hospitality from all manner of pirates, mercenaries, “The Old Guard,” & the Irish. ‘Twas a particular delight to work at a faire where the Sun set early, adding the magick of night to the end of the day!

We are both humbled & proud that we continue to find new audiences at new faires, in places where we are warned that our strange & radical magicks may not find a warm welcome. All weekend, crowds of all ages & kinds spent half-hours with us, baying for Mark Cuban’s head, booing ICE, & feeling collectively worried about werewolves, dog-men, & Elvis-clones. We hope to return to Kearney next year!

Thank ye for reading, & thank ye to all who joined us as the faire this weekend. From the debt collectors who handed us an ink-and-parchment bill at the end of our show, to the young boy whose desired future profession was “tall,” to the many, many teachers & social workers who seem to always gravitate toward our show—without thee, our show would nothing be.

I shall write ye Wednesday with news of this week’s episode, & a belated November forecast—our faire preparations pushed it back a touch, but fear not, I SHALL PROVIDE. ‘Til then—be safe, be well, & remember, WIZWORLD! IS! FOREVER!

Cheers,
